A Note from Coach Zubey

Dear Freshmen and JV Parents:

After evaluating where our Frosh and JV Football football teams are at, as well as looking at our opponents next week we have decided to switch opponents for our freshmen and JV game on Wednesday Oct. 17th. Our freshmen team will now play at HOME vs San Tan Foothills JV team at 6pm and our JV will play AWAY at Gilbert vs their JV team at 6pm.

Evaluating these match ups over fall break has always been our plan. This is why we scheduled both games on the same day in case we wanted to switch opponents. Both Gilbert and San Tan JV teams are made up of Freshmen AND Sophomores. They are both JV teams. This gives us the freedom to do this. I spoke with both Coach Baker and Coach Rosenberger about this and we all agreed for the most competitive match up for BOTH teams this would be the best solution.

We appreciate your continued support!

Go Knights!!

Eddy Zubey

All Higley football parents are encouraged to attend the upcoming Parents U-Knight booster club meeting.  The meeting will be held in the Higley High School library on Tuesday, October 2nd at 6pm.

It’s hard to believe, but we are already starting to make preparations for next year!

We will be discussing a number of topics, including the upcoming vacancies on the board.  Some of our parents on the board have students graduating in the Class of 2019 (woo-hoo!), and those positions will need to be filled.  We will be planning the elections to fill those vacancies.  Anyone interested in joining the board should definitely attend this meeting.

In addition, we will also be making plans for our end-of-year activities.  This includes the end-of-year football banquet for our teams, which is always fun.  We hope to see you all there!!!

CALLING ALL FOOTBALL PARENTS!  The Parents U-Knight booster club and the Higley High Football program need your help!  We have had some amazing volunteers this season, and for that we are very thankful, but we still have some volunteer spots left open that need to be filled.  Please sign up today and help us keep this program moving smoothly.  It’s more FUN than it is work, and you will get to know some great people!

As a friendly reminder, the Parents U-Knight booster club is tasked with staffing most of the game day positions on and around the field, including the concession stands, the chain gang, the merchandise table, as well as providing the team dinners to the teams.  There is a lot of work that goes into this and your help will be tremendously appreciated.  Even volunteering once during the season helps us lift the load for the entire program.  These games are our opportunity to raise funds to support our teams, and those funds allow us to offset some of the expenses for our athletes, so your involvement is vital to our success.

To sign up, please visit the “Volunteer Here” page to see what positions still need to be filled, or follow the link from our volunteer emails to visit the sign up page.  SignUpGenius is the service that we use to organize our volunteer activities, and both the email link and the buttons on the “Volunteer Here” page will take you to the same sign-up sheet.

Please volunteer for a day different than your player’s game day, so that you can cheer them on wildly from the stands!  If you are a Freshman parent, please sign up for JV or Varsity game days.  If you are a JV parent, please sign up for Freshman or Varsity game days.  If you are a Varsity parent, please sign up for Freshman or JV game days.  Let’s work together to support each other and make this a great season!
